Just like last time, we had nine participants for the previous round. Let's see how they voted for the months of May to August. (And yes, two of them technically couldn't post their votes, but there's been a couple weird glitches with this lately. So their votes that they messaged to me still count.)
May: Receiving 6 votes, "Beyond the Mirror" claimed the victory. But seriously, it's hard to argue against an epic, orchestral medley of Zelda tunes. That's practically the ultimate song.
June: This was a close battle, but "History Maker" stole the win with 5 votes. Let's be honest: anime theme songs are fantastic. It'd take some serious competition to beat them.
July: In the intense matchup of three songs, "Brave Enough" pulled through with 5 of the votes. It seems it resonated with more people, which is totally understandable. (And if you're wondering, the other two tracks both received 2 votes.)
August: It was another tight victory, but 5 people chose "Fireworks." I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Animal Crossing music is the best. I think it's safe to say that was the general consensus in this fight.
Now it's time for the last four months to duke it out! Theoretically, this should be the toughest round yet . . .

I'm so happy with the results of the last round! All the songs I voted for won, except for June. But that's the one where I could NOT decide. So, like I said, I was going to be happy with whatever the results for that were!

SEPTEMBER: "Faded (Restrung)" by Alan Walker
I LOVED both of the September songs. "The Search" was so, so unique. I loved the darker tone with a positive message. And the music video was something else! BUT. "Faded" is much more the type of music I'd normally listen to. I have that one on my watch later list on YouTube, I loved it so much. The piano and strings is my FAVORITE combination. So gorgeous!
OCTOBER: "Majora's Mask" from the Children of Termina album
I mean OF COURSE. It's Zelda! XD And that Children of the Termina album DEFINES epic. I looove the songs from it! They literally give me chills.
NOVEMBER: "Just Friends" remixed/covered by CG5 and Caleb Hyles
My love for Star vs. The Forces of Evil is probably bordering on unhealthy so...yeah. I gotta go with it! Even though "We Want Out" is SO catchy. This was a close one!
DECEMBER: "Oliver Queen Suite" from Arrow: Season 1
Another one with 3 songs. UGH. And all such GOOD ones. I was sooooo close to choosing the Mario one because, well, it's MARIO. You can never go wrong with it. But I finally settled with the Arrow song because I LOVE writing to Arrow music. It's such perfect writing music, so you made me discover! It makes me think of Burning Thorns since I listened to a lot of Arrow music while doing this last round of edits thanks to the soundtrack you compiled for me! ^_^
THERE. IT IS DONE. Except the next part of the voting will be even HARDER. I'm gonna try to not think about that...

DeleteSeptember is definitely an interesting match-up. Not an easy choice there. But I can totally see you leaning more toward something like "Faded."
I expected that you'd pick the Zelda track. XD

The rounds with three options are definitely the hardest ones, for sure. I'm happy that I've gotten you hooked on the Arrow music. The scores are so good--Blake Neely really is a talented composer.

ReplyDeleteSeptember: I really, really love both of these songs, probably because they speak to me in different ways. That makes this choice really tough. I think, though, I'll go with "The Search." NF has just meant a lot to me as an artist, and his songs are super relatable. That's why I'm going with him.
October: Hoo boy, another difficult decision. I'd like to vote for both. However, the epic style of "Majora's Mask" does it a little more for me, so . . . I'll vote for that one. I feel like I'm betraying Undertale here. ;_;
November: Two more great songs, but I think I'll vote for "We Want Out." Everything from the amazing variety of vocals to the music itself (especially the drilling/whirring bits and the haunting choir on the main chorus) just screams perfection to me.
December: Argh, these rounds of three songs are nearly impossible! I love all the songs; why must I choose just one?! This is really tough for me. I think my vote goes to . . . "Oliver Queen Suite." Talk about a phenomenal piece of music. It's definitely one of my favorite Arrow tracks.
