No Post Today

Hey, guys. So, as the title indicates, there isn't going to be any post today. I had originally intended to post the vlog edition of March's Humble Beginnings, but I have encountered many, many issues this week in trying to get it work. It was everything from the videos originally not importing to them being the wrong format to no video conversion program working.

And now Friday is upon us, and my mind is blank. I'm tired and--to be completely honest here--frustrated. I hope you'll be fine with getting two Humble Beginnings posts next month, and with having no real post this week.

Also, if any of you have posted vlogs before, please give me any and all hints, tips, and tricks. If you need further details, just ask in the comments, and I'll do my best to respond quickly.

Enjoy your Good Friday and Easter weekend!

  1. Oh dear! I'm so sorry you're having problems. However, I'm very excited for the vlog!! And two Humble Beginnings posts in a month? I don't think anyone is going to complain about that. ;) I'd give you some tips, but I know nothing about posting vlogs. So, my advice is to keep trying and push all the buttons until you find the one that works. XD

Have a wonderful Easter - and get some rest. Good luck!

    1. Yeah, having tech problems definitely isn't very fun. :P I'm undecided as to whether I'll have two Humble Beginnings posts this month, like I originally said, or if I'll do two in May. Because next week is going to be pretty busy for me. Thank you for your sage advice. I'll definitely keep it in mind for next time. XD

      Same to you!

  2. Don't feel bad, I feel productive if I can a post out, period. The fact that you've been posting (on average) once a week is very impressive.

  3. Do you use Youtube? I have been running a YouTube channel off and on for about a year or so and it is arguably the best video platform out there. Putting the videos in your post is very easy once they are uploaded to YouTube. Video formats is a slightly more complicated problem. Are you using PC, Mac or a phone? I typically film with a digital camera which is very fool proof and I use windows movie maker to edit my videos, which is easy to use but has limitations(be sure to save your projects constantly, because WMM has a tendency to quit and goof up more complicated ones). In terms of video editing I am very inept and I haven't used any professional software. My digital camera is a Canon ELPH 160 (or something like that) it uses a SD card to import or you can use the included USB cable. It is about a hundred bucks on Amazon. Phones are easier to use but I have less expereince filming with them and it depends on what kind you have. None of this info may be useful to you, but I figured I would dump it all out there in case any of it helps and who doesn't like to sound like they are tech savvy? :P

    1. I do, though I haven't uploaded many videos onto it. I used my iPhone 7 to film the vlog, and I want to use my PC to upload it to YouTube. Thanks for the info! I'll see if WMM might work for me this time. I'll also keep this in mind for next time I film in a vlog. Hopefully I'll find some method that actually works. XD #SoundTechSavvyWheneverYouCan :P

    2. Iphone 7? Cool, good footage quality shouldnt be an issue. Even my dad's Iphone SE has better video quality than my camera!

Hope it works for you one way or another. Good luck!

  4. Oh man, I'm so sorry it's giving you a headache! I understand. The few vlogs I did were such a pain. Uuuugh.

What I did is just film them on my phone, stuck the videos on my computer, and edited them with a program called HitFilm Express 'cause it was free. Lol. Though it's not the easiest program to use, so I want to try another one sometime, but it got the job done anyway. After that, I used the program to compile the video in the correct format, loaded it up on YouTube, and then stuck the video on my blog. Everything took time, especially compiling the video and uploading it on YouTube, but it did work.

Not sure if that helps you at all, but yeah, that's what I did to get mine on the blog.

Anyways, I do hope you can get it figured out! These things can be so frustrating!

    1. I don't why they're so hard to do. Actually, I do. It's because I don't have any nice cameras or professional editing software to use, like I had in my college media class.

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to check it out. Hopefully it won't take me too long to figure out how to use. XD

It does help a lot! Thank you. :D

Same here. But hopefully this means my next vlog will go a lot smoother.
